Find out more about our vision for a ConnectedCity. Love Architecture have been commissioned by Clerkenwell Preservation Society to undertake a major public realm study for Clerkenwell Green. The square has a rich heritage of public gatherings and protests but has, in recent times, been dominated by car parking. Love Architecture's study involves considering various options for re-instating the square as public space, improving connections for pedestrians and cyclists as well as restoring its role as a place to stop and enjoy through seating and soft and hard landscaping. Love Architecture have been awarded silver in the Built Environment and Architectural Heritage category of the Green Apple awards for our work on promoting sustainability through the ConnectedCities project. ConnectedCities is a vision for new compact, walkable developments, focused around existing and new railway stations. When grouped together, along an existing rail corridors, these developments (some existing, some new) form a ConnectedCity. The awards were presented by Doreen Lawrence at the National Self-Build and Renovation Centre on 24 June 2013. THE GREEN ORGANISATION has been established since 1994 as an international, independent, non-profit, non-political, non-activist environment group, dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.
